SPACE AND TIME

A Visual Album by Kael Alden - Live in the Dome

The Experience

Imagine Rüfüs Du Sol's melodic, atmospheric electronica poured into a full-dome canvas. Space and Time is a ten-song visual album that moves through ten distinct visual worlds - oceanic dreamscapes, psychedelic color-fields, raw flipbook-style animal imagery - unfolding across a 45-minute immersive journey through sound and full-dome visuals.

Winner of Best Musical Feature Film at Dome Fest West 2026, and praised by SLUG Magazine for its stellar mix of visual and audio pulling audiences through multiple worlds, this is dance-adjacent, deeply melodic electronic music paired with visuals as expansive as the sound.

Kael Alden calls his sound "psychedelic synth soul" - a genre he admits he half-invented because nothing else quite fit. Listeners have drawn comparisons to psychedelic and electronic-soul artists alike, but the truth is Space and Time resists easy categorization.

The Story Behind the Show

Space and Time grew out of 10–16 hour days in the studio, stretched across months at a time, over four years. It was always meant to be an immersive dome experience, which meant every song had a distinct visual world built from scratch.

The album's title captures the paradox at its core: space and time feel infinite, and yet there's never enough of either. That tension - between the pull of everyday responsibility and the pull toward something bigger - runs through every track, from the crushing weight of Down to the surrender of Hypnotized to the final, unbound question at the heart of Synecdoche of the Self.

Track by Track

Space and Time starts in the "before" - pressure, insecurity, fear, a sense that something's wrong you can't quite name. From there it slides into unraveling: dreams that won't cooperate, coping mechanisms gone quiet, sadness said out loud instead of hidden. Then the ground shifts. A breath. The storm is faced instead of run from. What follows is release - restlessness given somewhere to go, obsession reframed as flow, the need to define yourself finally let go of. Finally, the show ends on a note of peace, self-acceptance and hope.

  1. Down - The beginning of the journey in a place of pressure.
  2. In My Dreams - We continue down the spiral of how we see ourselves and how we actually feel.
  3. All the Usual Tricks - What happens when your go-to coping mechanisms stop working.
  4. I'm Happy I'm Sad - An ode to sitting with sadness instead of running from it.
  5. Space and Time - The album's emotional center - the question of what it takes to make room for what matters.
  6. Light as a Feather - The turning point: facing the storm and refusing to be afraid of it.
  7. Idle Cycles - A breath. This track is all about creating room to break out of repeating patterns.
  8. Wild Life - The restlessness of a caged instinct with nowhere to go.
  9. Hypnotized - On flow states, obsession, and losing yourself in your work - for better and worse.
  10. Synecdoche of the Self - Letting go of the need to define yourself at all.
